music AS A LANGUAGE: vICTOR wOOTEN
Music is a complex language that takes determination to master. It may be years before you can completely understand or be fluent. While watching this video I realized that I can relate to this TED talk immensely. Any musician can relate to this video, beginners to professionals. Even if you are not a musician you can relate to this talk. It teaches you about how music is all around you and is taught and ingrained in your mind from childhood. This talk also touches on how even if you are not a music major or a musician you are still humming music or singing in the shower. You do this because you are happy! Because you love doing it! Music is not just a language but a lifestyle. When musicians play during concerts they are not usually doing the concert for the money. They do the concert because they love music and love the feeling they get when they perform. Listening to each other while playing is another great point that is addressed in this talk. If you are not listening to each other while playing, your sound is not going to be great. This clip shows great teaching skills and shows that the speaker loves to teach and is very engaging. He gives many points and ideas and has great ideas about how music is a language within a lifestyle.
